While it looks unusual, this new approach is certainly viable and is no worse than its metal counterparts. The bowl's diameter is comfortable and optimal: 22 centimeters (8.5 inches) is sufficient for shaking off ash and securing the coal in case of a fall. Naturally, a glass bowl doesn't guarantee that the coal won't fall, but it significantly reduces the chances.
