We're guessing it was the unusually wide and deep plate. We haven't seen anything like this on Kaya's closest competitors, but let's figure out if it makes any practical sense. If Kaya is behind the design, every detail will be assigned a specific purpose. In our case, the plate serves as additional protection against accidental drops. As you can imagine, with a regular plate, charcoal and tobacco would fly everywhere, but in our case, thanks to the wide and deep plate, the likelihood of hot fragments falling beyond its edges is significantly reduced.
